GütenBIO

Fashioned in Stoneham, Massachusetts at some juncture of the two-thousand and two winter months, the prevailing quartet known as the Steve GütenBAND originated from the fantastic NOTION of collecting the group’s “inside” jokes in the form of a Musical Songbook. The name of the band (itself) is a play on the inexplicably once popular comedic actor from the 1980’s, the great (well, we think so) Steve Guttenberg!!! While the original INTENT of the group has changed, the name remains the same.

Comprised of childhood friends!!!, Eric Blackman (vocals, trumpet, guitar, keyboards), Brian Vatcher (guitar, vocals, keyboards), Chris Wood (bass guitar) and Ellert Michael Ellertsson (drums), the Steve GütenBAND wrote, arranged and co-produced their first LP in 2006, the aptly-titled Sweetness Overflow. The songs “Pawtucket Patriot” and “Pleasant Descent” filled the airwaves of local radio, while the epic album closer “P.U.N.intendo” clocks in at over ten minutes and is one of the group’s most ambitious pieces of music to date. The alliteration of these song titles is coincidental, however, as no other songs on the record begin with the letter “P.”

the Steve GütenBAND have entered a new STAGE of their musical adventure!!!, drawing from their mutual love of the Beatles, Beach Boys and the Elephant 6 Recording Company to create new songs for a new era..
